Control and cost
Off-peak pricing
Some models cost less outside their provider's busy hours. How off-peak prices are billed, where to see the hours, and how to schedule work for them.
Some providers charge less outside their busy hours. DeepSeek's off-peak prices, for example, are half its peak prices. On DigitSpace, those models carry an off-peak schedule, and you pay the off-peak price automatically when your request starts off-peak.
How a request is billed
- The start time decides. A request that starts off-peak is billed at off-peak prices for all of it, even if it finishes after peak hours begin, and the other way round.
- No setting or header is needed. The gateway checks the schedule for every request.
- Routing knows. With the Cheapest or Balanced routing strategy, and with
auto, an offer that's off-peak right now ranks by its off-peak price.
Where to see the hours
- Model pages: a model with off-peak prices shows whether it's off-peak now and when that changes, and lists its next off-peak periods in your own time zone. The price card switches between Peak and Off-peak prices.
- The models page: a badge under each model with off-peak prices, e.g. "Off-peak now: 50% off, ends in 2 h".
- The dashboard's Home shows a card while any model is off-peak.
Schedules are written in the provider's time zone. DeepSeek's busy hours, for example, are 01:00–04:00 and 06:00–10:00 UTC on weekdays. Every other hour is off-peak, as are weekends and the listed public holidays.
Make the most of it
- Batch work, evaluations and long agent runs that don't need answers straight away can start off-peak. Check the model's next off-peak period on its page, or schedule jobs for those hours.
- Interactive traffic doesn't need to change. Requests during peak hours simply pay the peak price.
- Compare what your last month would have cost on another model with the cost simulator.
