# Aider

> Run the Aider coding assistant on DigitSpace by setting the OpenAI base URL and key and prefixing the model with openai/.

Aider reaches OpenAI-compatible servers through its `openai/` model prefix.

Command line:

aider --openai-api-base https://api.digitspace.ai/v1 \
      --openai-api-key "$DIGITSPACE_API_KEY" \
      --model openai/auto
```

Environment:

```bash
export OPENAI_API_BASE=https://api.digitspace.ai/v1
export OPENAI_API_KEY="$DIGITSPACE_API_KEY"
aider --model openai/claude-sonnet-5-5
```

Put any model ID after `openai/`. Aider doesn't know prices or context sizes for models it hasn't heard of and may warn about it; the warning doesn't stop it working.
