There are three Vertex providers in the list:

| Provider | For |
| ------------------------------------- | ----------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Google Vertex AI (Gemini)** | Gemini models |
| **Claude on Google Vertex AI** | Anthropic's models on Vertex |
| **Google Vertex AI (partner models)** | Other partner models on Vertex's OpenAI-compatible endpoint |

All three take a service account key.

## Create the service account key

1. In the Google Cloud console, open **IAM & Admin → Service accounts** in the project you want billed.
2. Create a service account and give it the **Vertex AI User** role.
3. Open it, go to **Keys → Add key → Create new key → JSON**, and download the file.

For Claude, also enable the Claude models in Vertex AI's Model Garden for that project.

## Add it

1. In **Provider keys → Add a provider key**, choose the Vertex provider.
2. Paste the whole JSON file as the key. It must include `client_email`, `private_key` and `project_id`; the project comes from the file.
3. Choose the **Location**: `global` by default, or a region where your models are available.
4. Save. DigitSpace checks that Google accepts the service account.

## What it serves

Your Vertex key serves the models DigitSpace's catalogue routes to that Vertex provider. See [Providers](/providers). Vertex doesn't give DigitSpace a model list, so other models aren't added automatically. On Enterprise you can add them as custom models.
